The Department of Paediatrics and Child Health is committed to providing state-of-the-art clinical services to children. It imparts high quality undergraduate and postgraduate training and carries out research of public health importance. The Department consists of a group of dedicated full-time and part-time Faculties. Besides the outpatient clinics, the inpatient set-up consists of a Paediatric Ward with two units comprising of 84 beds, a dedicated 5-bed area for Paediatrics Neurology, a 10 Bedded level 2 care ward and an Advanced Neonatal Intensive Care unit with 24 cots, a dedicated Paediatrics ICU and post cardiac ICU and round the clock critical care; all cared after by fully trained Paediatric Medical and Nursing staff.

Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Fellow Medical Officer in Neonatal Paediatrics.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for:

• providing clinical service in in-patient and out-patient services with the senior faculty members
• performing daily team rounds, formulate management plans daily in consultation with senior faculty members
• practicing a system that is quality based and has an academic and service model imbibed in it
• participating in teaching undergraduates and postgraduates according to the defined standards and curriculum
• conducting clinical/basic research related to Paediatrics
• participating in departmental and organizational performance improvement activities
• performing procedural skills based on competency levels
• providing consultations under supervision of seniors in different clinical areas of Neonatology including Labour & Delivery suits, well baby and Emergency department.

Requirements:

You should have:

• A MBBS degree and a valid PMDC license
• completed structured postgraduate training in Paediatrics from a reputable institution
• cleared FCPS part II in Pediatrics
• excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• excellent teaching and training skills
• excellent clinical skills
• ability to provide patient care in a diverse setting and satisfy and retain patients in clinical practice
• ability to work effectively in teams.
