Job Role / Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Clinical Engineering Manager, Biomedical Engineering (BME), we are looking for an experienced individual to join our team as an Engineer in Biomedical EngineeringThe incumbent will work under minimal supervision to provide support in the repair, troubleshooting calibration, and maintenance of biomedical and electromechanical devices. The person would be under general supervision and using the tools and techniques of biomedical technology
Main Responsibilities:
- responsible for repairing and maintenance of laboratory equipment and particular responsibilities within the specialties of the appointee
- effectively Corresponding and regular follow-ups till conclusion on assigned Work orders/Tasks for timely completion and for resource or spare requirements
- carrying out planned preventive maintenance inspections, installation commissioning, and tests in accordance with the departmental procedures/work instructions and proper documentation of the maintenance records
- reviewing the outcome of preventive maintenance action and making recommendations to department staff concerning improvements
- ensuring proper safety standards for all medical equipment used at AKUH
- ensuring that the overall activities meet the requirements of quality management environmental policies and legal requirements
- providing timely feedback to the supervisor/manager on assigned and ongoing tasks
- providing technical and administrative support in the internal audits, incident management, and clinical quality records review program
- identify aging and obsolete patient care equipment to the manager and provide recommendations for replacement with justification.
- preparing documentation and maintaining records pertaining to all repairs, replacement parts, calibrations, and
- modifications of medical equipment in computerized maintenance management
- attend breakdown and calls on medical equipment. as assigned by the manager as per rota or as when required
- completing ad hoc assignments/tasks and other duties as assigned
Eligibility Requirements
- B.E or BSc. in the Biomedical engineering field with 3 years experience in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment
- considerable knowledge of laboratory equipment and ability to technical aspects the operation, test, repair, and maintenance of these equipment’s
- knowledge of human anatomy. Physiology, Biochemistry, and medical terminologies
- knowledge of computer and medical devices applications & MS Office (word. excel, PowerPoint) along with computer networking
- knowledge of current regulatory and safety requirements within hospital systems
- ability to learn technical concepts, new skills, and knowledge quickly
