Job Purpose
To provide technical authority & technical support to ensure the Site complies with all relevant GSK & national standards.
As an SME (Subject Matter Expert) supervise the electrical maintenance activities for Site Electrical Installations (HV, LV, Switch gear, Control Systems, Metering, Electrical Systems and site wide electrical distribution network).
Responsibility for all day-to-day operational matters of site, this includes smooth operations effective of Site Electrical system, employee relations, training, and development. This requires close working and alignment of the role with the other engineering department of other sites.
Lead multi-disciplined teams of engineers and support staff, making use of external consultants and contractors, to implement capital projects in the domain of electrical.
Analyze downtimes and look for long-term solutions and define concrete improvement actions and identify various opportunities for improvement (both in terms of costs and equipment reliability) work out these improvement ideas completely technically.
Supervise and execute jobs in assigned areas in smooth, efficient, cost effective and in safe manner and comply QMS, EHS and Engineering standards & policies and procedures.
Education, Experience & Skills
Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical)
Minimum 5-7 years’ experience
Competency and sufficient knowledge of electrical systems, techniques, and methods especially in pharmaceuticals.
Good communication/ presentation & computer skills
Maintenance activities planned in accordance with regulatory and safety compliance.
Negotiation and time management skills
Can lead both operational problems and project works.
Fully familiar with cGMP, FDA, MHRA requirements.
Fully familiar with corporate Engineering policies and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Provides Technical oversight & Technical Authority for approval of all Electrical installations and modifications including Capital project activity.
Create and implement Electrical strategy for the site through the Interpretation and application of GSK Engineering standards & all relevant local standards.
Train, develop and mentor Electrical team members to ensure that their skills and knowledge are developed to support all customer requirements for projects, continuous improvements and breakdowns.
Develop the site Electrical maintenance strategy to ensure adherence to GSK Engineering standards & all relevant local standards.
Liaise with Engineering Shared Service to ensure compliance is met on site and facilitate any L3/L4 regulatory inspections.
Responsible for electrical systems/installation/safety of site. This includes coordinating with regional electrical team in a matrix hierarchy to ensure site is having 100% compliance to GSK Global Electrical Standards/Compliance/Requirements.
To ensure all electrical equipment and distribution network is working smoothly with proper maintenance through CMMS along with adherence of PM checklist as per plan.
To Identify& contribute to cost saving Projects through Operational Excellence and beyond.
Ensure that electrical inventory in stores is updated and replenishment cycle is above safety stock
Ensure that Electrical requirements of TP-13 (Engineering Audit) are fulfilled throughout the Site.
Works with key stakeholders, process & system owners, project team members, contractors and vendors to achieve optimal project outcomes. Control and manage engineering supplies and contractual service to ensure satisfied quality, spare inventory, and service level.
Support the implementation of Site Sustainability Initiatives with respect to optimal use electricity and lead initiatives as per relevance.
Lead Site Solar Installation operation and maintenance with a focus on performance and monitoring of outputs.
Responsible for performing all duties in accordance with all environmental, health and Safety regulations and practices applicable to this position.
Lead the planning cycle of Annual Budget and support in development of site Capex/Capital Plan in respect to electrical.
Planning and executing the activities related to the maintaining and repairing of Physical systems of utilities equipment and effective asset life cycle management.
Carry out Engineering Utilities related Risks Assessment procedures as well as Self Inspections and Conduct/ Review GAP analysis for GESs/ES’s/EP’s (applied to Electrical systems).
Ensure compliance with GSK F268 engineering standards, GSK Global engineering standards and all local standards applicable to utilities (In conjunction with EHS department).
