Job Description
This position is responsible in ensuring the efficient operation of the hotel property and all its equipment, ancillary maintenance and repair services and protection of the Owner's asset.
Structural aspects of the hotel as well as the maintenance of grounds and external facilities fall within the span of responsibility of the Director Of Engineering.
Financial acumen is key as you assist in controlling expenditure and managing CAPEX projects. Your strategic oversight will be crucial in selecting suppliers, tracking project completion, and ensuring cost-effective operations. As a vital link between the engineering department and the broader hotel team, you will drive efficiency, maintain high standards, and ensure every detail contributes to an exceptional guest experience.
Qualifications
Masters degree in Engineering or equivalent
Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior engineering operations position or 2-3 years of experience in a similar capacity
Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within the hotel industry
Relevant trade qualifications in electrical and/or mechanical services are advantageous
Comprehensive understanding of fire safety systems and protocols
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team effectively
Exceptional communicator with experience managing maintenance functions in large-scale operations
Ability to perform emergency maintenance outside regular working hours
Strong knowledge of computer systems, financial reporting, and inventory management
