The Deputy Manager Powerhouse is responsible for Operation and Maintenance of power plant i.e., CFBC boilers, steam turbine, water treatment plant, coal conveying, coal yard handling & ash handling, inventory reconciliation and other auxiliary equipment.

Core Responsibilities:

• Cogen Plant Operation: The incumbent will be responsible for smooth line operation of CFB boilers, steam turbines and balance of plant along with preventive and corrective maintenance of all equipment’s in powerhouse (Coal fired). The incumbent will ensure smooth supply of on demand electricity and steam to plant round the clock. The incumbent will ensure operation of plant within the specified limits defined by PEQS for boiler emissions and maintain administrative control of operation crew.
• Meeting Compliance and Regulatory Requirements: He will be responsible for ensuring EHS of all employees and contractors at Cogen Powerhouse aiming to zero injury targets for both categories. He will be responsible for implementation of Ingredion EHSS standards at Powerhouse along with all IMS standards clauses implementation relevant to ISO 45001/ ISO 9001/ ISO 14001. The incumbent will be responsible to operate balance of plant (water treatment area / boiler emissions) with in PEQS defined environmental limits. The incumbent will be responsible for stewarding all Environmental monthly reports to Plant management.
• Innovation/ Cost Saving: The incumbent will be responsible to meet assigned Cost saving initiatives and ideas implementation at Powerhouse assuring optimized power and steam generation with >90% condensate recovery.
• Inventory Management: The incumbent will be responsible to maintain inventory of coal as per site guidelines and reconciliation on monthly basis to maintain minimum inventory level of coal/ clinker/ slag/ sludge.
• Agility and Innovation: The incumbent will be overseeing overall Powerhouse CFB boiler engineers / staff to operate plant in most optimistic way to assure minimum coal consumption per ton of steam. He will be responsible to operate Cogen efficiency in line to global Ingredion practices.
• Training: The incumbent will be responsible to train staff and contractors with updated and latest technologies and developments to assure teams are equipped with best knowledge and has access to relevant expertise and facilities. The incumbent will be responsible to comply Coal Powerhouse SOP in site in true spirit.
• Contract Management and Reporting: The incumbent will be responsible to manage external contractor to operate their highest performance to take timely corrective and preventive actions as necessary.
• Managing Stakeholders: The incumbent will work closely with quality personnel and coordinate with plant management to assure smooth Powerhouse. Exhibit exemplary leadership in maintaining and achieving Environment, Health, and Safety excellence in his areas of responsibilities including safety of contractor’s workforce employed at Co-gen plant.

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical / mechanical engineering from PEC / HEC recognized and registered University / Institute.
• 7~10 years of practical experience of Coal fired power plant.
• English fluency, both written and spoken.

Desirable requirements:

• Operation of Utilities experience
• Coal powerhouse / Cogen turbine / Gas turbine experience
• Computer and Project Skills with proficiency level (SAP, Office Management, Lean Six Sigma).
