Position Summary
As a Data Operations Engineer I, you will play a pivotal role in the efficient processing and analysis of geospatial data, contributing to the success of projects involving 3D modeling, mapping, and asset inspections. Taking ownership of 3-4 task modules, you will expand your area of expertise and autonomy while collaborating closely with the Asset Integrity Team and other stakeholders. Your responsibilities extend to prioritizing tasks in alignment with project objectives and business impact, showcasing a keen understanding of technical levers for optimal outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Utilizing Metashape for efficient processing and analysis of geospatial data, with a focus on 3D modeling and mapping applications.
- Demonstrating expertise in Cloud Compare to manipulate, analyze, and visualize point cloud data for optimal insights.
- Using Python for the extraction and systematic categorization and sorting of diverse data types, while incorporating customization to align with specific requirements.
- Proficiently using Trendspek for visual asset inspections and assessments, contributing to structural and asset integrity evaluations.
- Developing a foundational understanding of offshore/onshore oil platforms and marine terminals to address industry-specific operational challenges.
- Interpreting and collaborating on Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for effective communication within the Asset Integrity Team.
- Applying familiarity with isometric drawings to create detailed three-dimensional representations of piping systems.
- Exhibiting experience and proficiency in using CAD models, especially on Navisworks, to integrate 3D modeling tools into data operations.
- Demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of structural drawings and mechanical equipment for diverse projects involving complex structural systems, such as marine terminals.
Person specification
- Attention to detail and a strong desire to achieve results.
- Experience with 3D CAD models (preferred).
- Basic understanding of computer vision, data science, data processing, CAD, and point clouds.
- Familiarity with tools such as MetaShape, Cloud Compare, NavisWorks.
- Familiarity with the oil and gas industry, particularly in offshore/onshore operations and marine terminals.
- Effective communication skills, especially in interpreting P&IDs and collaborating within cross-functional teams.
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and tools in the evolving field of geospatial data operations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage tasks and prioritize responsibilities to meet project deadlines.
- Keen attention to detail in interpreting drawings, ensuring accuracy in three-dimensional representations.
- Collaborative mindset and the ability to work seamlessly within a team-oriented environment.

Qualification
Bachelor's degree in mechatronics, software/CS, or a related field (required); Master's degree in a relevant engineering or management field (preferred).
