This position is placed in Telenor Linx (TLX) which is a new global unit within Telenor Group. TLX is a trusted global partner for Mobile Network Operators and Digital Service Providers, for market leading software to enable digital authentication, payment, and third-party sales & distribution. We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Credit Risk Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in credit risk management, a strong analytical mindset, and the ability to work closely with various departments to ensure sound risk practices. This role involves direct involvement in risk assessment, policy development, and the implementation of risk mitigation strategies.


Goals


  • Ensuring all credit risk exposure at customers, product and portfolio level remain appropriate and within acceptable parameters.
  • Monitoring and communicating the level of credit risk taken to senior management.
  • Undertaking key tasks in credit risk management on a day-to-day basis.

Key responsibilities:


  • Enterprise risk management (ERM):
  • Drive and oversee the enterprise risk management (ERM) processes in TLX, including facilitation of risk processes, reporting and alignment with Group risk functions, risk forums and senior management.
  • Risk Assessment and Analysis:
  • Conduct thorough credit risk assessments for new and existing customers, including detailed financial analysis and creditworthiness evaluations.
  • Develop and maintain credit risk models to predict potential risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Policy Development and Implementation:
  • Design, implement, and update credit risk policies and procedures to align with industry best practices and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure all credit risk policies are effectively communicated and adhered to across the organization.
  • Hands-On Risk Management:
  • Perform detailed credit risk reviews and provide recommendations for credit approvals, renewals, and modifications.
  • Engage directly with customers and stakeholders to understand their financial needs and assess their risk profiles.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
  • Utilize advanced analytical tools and techniques to monitor and report on credit risk metrics and trends.
  • Prepare comprehensive risk reports for senior management, highlighting key risk indicators and recommending corrective actions where necessary.
  • Financial monitoring of business partner portfolio, including foreign currency, exchange rate risks, portfolio alerting and follow ups. Drive and facilitate our Credit Committee function.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
  • Work closely with relevant teams, compliance, and within finance team to ensure a cohesive approach to credit risk management.
  • Provide assistance and support to other team members on credit risk assessment techniques and risk management best practices.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
  • Stay updated on relevant regulatory changes and ensure the company’s credit risk management practices comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors during credit risk audits and examinations.

Eligibility Criteria / Qualifications


Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, FRM) is a plus
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in credit risk management, preferably within a financial institution
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial analysis, credit risk modeling, and risk assessment techniques
  • Hands-on experience with credit risk management software and tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and stakeholders at all levels
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements related to credit risk management
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Due diligence abilities and time management skills
