Introduction:

The Department of Anaesthesiology at Aga Khan University is committed to providing clinical excellence in perioperative care as well as the training of future anaesthesiologists. Our team of trained and well-experienced anesthesiologists aims to provide best possible patient care not only in the operation theatres but also beyond it. With current 35 clinical faculty our department is one of the biggest Anaesthesia department in country, our faculty is also involved in undergraduate and postgraduate education and our programs are recognized at national and international level.

Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Coordinator (Education) in the Department of Anaesthesiology.


Job Role / Responsibilities:


You will be responsible for:


  • assisting in the development, review, and execution of all academic activities within the department, including regular curriculum reviews, timely trainee assessments, record maintenance, audits, and program evaluations
  • supporting the execution of educational research initiatives
  • contributing to curriculum revision and the integration of workplace-based assessment methods
  • coordinating in the planning and organization of workshops, courses, and other educational activities
  • ensuring residents and fellows obtain mandatory certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS,  PMDC)
  • structuring and streamlining teaching/learning activities of the department
  • managing the planning, coordination, facilitation, and monitoring of UG & PG academic programs in collaboration with faculty
  • supporting quality assurance initiatives in the department’s educational programs
  • ensuring timely evaluation and assessment of trainees after each rotation.

Eligibility Criteria /Requirements:


You should have:


  • a Bachelor’s/Master Degree preferably in medicine
  • 1-2 years of experience in medical education / health care
  • ability to facilitate workshops- previous experience of workshop facilitation will be preferred
  • knowledge of PBL or a willingness to learn
  • knowledge of medical education principles
  • good management and presentation skills
  • excellent collaborative and interpersonal communication skills.
