Job Overview:We are looking for a specialized estimator to join our team, focusing on
ceiling and
finishing divisions. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction estimation, particularly within the finishing division. This position involves calculating ceiling areas using software tools like Plan Swift, Blue beam, or On-Screen Takeoff for accurate quantity estimation, this also involves reviewing and analyzing project drawings, performing detailed takeoffs, and managing project information.
Responsibilities:- Download and review drawing sets, identifying and extracting relevant drawings such as:
- Reflected Ceiling Plans (RCP)
- Finish Schedule & Finish Legend
- Wall Elevations & Finish Plan
- Ceiling Details
- Perform takeoffs on quantities including Square Feet, Linear Feet, and Full Units for:
- ACT – Acoustic Ceiling Tile
- Ceiling Grid
- Baffles
- Acoustic Wall Panels
- Review available pricing for panels using internal documents provided by the project lead, and apply unit costs accordingly.
- Consolidate RFIs (Requests for Information) on the project and communicate them to the project lead.
- Monitor bidding platforms for available projects and identify potential opportunities.
Qualifications:- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in construction estimation, project management, or a similar field.
Skills:- Familiarity with construction materials, particularly acoustic panels and ceiling grids.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to consolidate and relay project information effectively.
- Experience with bidding platforms and project management tools.
- Experience with Planswift, Bluebleam iSqFt, ConstructConnect, BidScope, BidClerk
