Purpose of Role
CBSE Headmistress/ Headmaster high School plays a crucial role in managing the academic operations and maintaining the high standards of education in the school. The purpose of this role is to oversee the daily operations of the high school, ensuring effective teaching and learning, supporting teachers, and ensuring the well-being of students. The person will also be responsible for coordinating with various stakeholders, including subject leaders, parents, and the administration, to ensure smooth and efficient school operations, as well as leading the effective administration of CBSE examinations.

Skills Required:
Leadership: Proven ability to manage and lead a diverse team of 60 plus teachers.
Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with students, parents, teachers, and external stakeholders.
Problem-Solving: Ability to address concerns, both from students and teachers, with professionalism and care.
Conflict Resolution: Skill in handling difficult situations with tact and sensitivity, ensuring positive outcomes.
Curriculum Knowledge: Deep understanding ofCBSE curricula, including examinations and assessment protocols.
Technology Proficiency: Comfort with using educational technology and managing systems across departments
Qualifications:
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, or a related field.
Experience: Proven experience in a leadership or managerial role in a high school setting, with a focus on curriculum management, teacher support, and student well-being.
Board Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of CBSE board operations and examinations.
Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
1. Student Management & Development:
Timetable & Teacher Allocation: Manage the school timetable, teacher assignments, and substitute teachers as needed.
Learning Environment Maintenance: Ensure classrooms and learning spaces are well-maintained, including soft board displays and general cleanliness.
Event & Field Trip Management: Oversee the organization of assemblies, events, celebrations, and field trips, ensuring they align with educational objectives.
Discipline & Safety:Maintain discipline in the school environment and ensure students’ safety and well-being at all times.
Academic Performance Monitoring: Ensure the timely completion of student corrections, report cards, grade books, and comments.
Curriculum Coordination: Work with subject leaders to monitor the completion of the syllabus and other subject-related activities.
Remediation Planning:Identify students with learning challenges and plan remedial actions to help them succeed.
Classroom Support:Assist in classrooms, arranging resources, and supporting teaching and learning activities.
Student Engagement: Manage student appreciation programs, awards, and monitor their social-emotional development.
Parent Communication: Attend parent meetings, address parental concerns proactively, and ensure regular updates on student progress.
2. Teacher Management & Support:
Team Leadership: Oversee and manage a team of 60+ teachers, ensuring effective classroom management and overall performance.
Teacher Mentoring & Counseling: Offer guidance and mentoring to teachers, including new hires, on classroom management, teaching strategies, and student behavior.
Team Meetings & Performance Reviews: Plan and conduct regular team meetings, and perform annual performance reviews of teachers.
Teacher Motivation & Retention: Develop strategies to motivate and retain teachers, ensuring a supportive work environment.
Leave & Attendance Management:Maintainaccurate records of teacher leave and ensure appropriate coverage.
Teacher Training: Provide training and support to teachers during Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs), helping them address subject-related queries professionally.
3. Operations & Administration:
Examination Administration: Oversee the administration of CBSE examinations, ensuring smooth execution in line with operational frameworks.
Safeguarding & Safety:Demonstrate awareness and sensitivity towards safeguarding issues and address concerns with professionalism and care.
Support to Principal & Vice Principal: Provide administrative support to the Principal and Vice Principal in day-to-day operations.
UDISE Compliance: Work with the Local Education Department on UDISE (Unified District Information System for Education) reporting and data management.
JEE Coaching Management: Responsible for the operation and management of JEE Coaching for students.
Communication Management:Facilitate effective communication between parents, students, teachers, education boards, and the school’s Internal School Planning (iSP) team.
Cross-departmental Coordination: Coordinate with IT, HR, and Admin departments for system support, recruitment, retention plans, and operational matters.
Recruitment & Admission Support:Participate in the recruitment process, including conducting interviews and demonstration sessions, and assist with admissions by reviewing performance.
