We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Technical Buyer to join our procurement team. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing Capex materials and Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) supplies required to support the company's operations. This role involves collaborating with internal stakeholders, vendors, and suppliers to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods while maintaining quality and compliance standards. This also include engineering services from contractorsWHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE:1. Procurement Management:Source and procure Capex materials and MRO supplies in accordance with project and operational requirements.Ensure competitive pricing, optimal lead times, and quality standards in procurement processes.2. Supplier Relationship Management:Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers and vendors.Conduct supplier audits and performance evaluations to ensure compliance with quality and safety & delivery standards.Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.3. Inventory & Cost Control:Monitor inventory levels of MRO and Capex materials to ensure uninterrupted operations.Analyse spending trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.Develop strategies for efficient inventory management and reduction of excess stock.4. Cross-functional Collaboration:Work closely with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to understand technical specifications and requirements.Communicate with internal stakeholders to ensure purchased items meet functional and quality needs.5. Documentation & Compliance:Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, invoices, and supplier agreements.Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.Address and resolve supplier quality or delivery issues in a timely manner.6. Market Research:Conduct market analysis to identify new suppliers, trends, and alternative products.Stay updated on industry developments to ensure the company benefits from the latest innovations and competitive pricing.WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEEDExperience and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).At least 5 years' experience in Procurement and Supply ManagementProven experience in technical procurement, particularly in purchasing specialized materials like Capex and MRO suppliesStrong understanding of supply chain processes, vendor management, and procurement best practicesSkills: NegotiationStrategic Supplier PartnershipsPortfolio Strategy DevelopmentStakeholder Management and CommunicationTalent CatalystLeadership:You are an inclusive motivator of people.
