JOB TITLE: Accounting and Operations Specialist


DEPARTMENT: Accounts


REPORTS TO: Senior Manager Accounts / VP Accounts


PURPOSE:


We are seeking an experienced Accounting and Operations Specialist with experience from the Beverage Industry to become a part of our team, and help us deliver on our mission to empower 2B people at work by 2050.



KEY RESPONSIBILTIES:


This role is ideal for a candidate with Accounting experience, who is eager to gain more business experience, and is ready to grow their career by taking on a cross-functional role that will enable them to gain valuable experience working in both Accounting and Operations. The ideal candidate is not afraid to ‘get their hands dirty’, and she/he is willing to dig into the details. The right candidate will be motivated to work closely with CEO on key priorities of both cash and daily operations.


Successful candidates will be the ones who understand deeply that they are working in a Start-Up, and that they will play a key role in our future -- as they will be responsible for collecting the cash required to maintain a healthy business.

S/he will understand and be energized about the opportunity that they have to help make company successful as our business continues to grow and scale. There are (2) main areas of responsibility: 1/ Accounting and 2/ Operations:


KEY ACCOUNTING RESPONSIBILTIES:


  • Bring a ‘continuous improvement mindset’ to cash collection – look for ways to digitize and automate redundant processes
  • Proactively manage all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting processes including A/P, A/R, payroll, journal entries, and bank reconciliation.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, statements, and forecasts
  • Analyze monthly financial reports and provide key insights and recommendations on how to further improve the business.
  • Lead the effort to analyze company performance on key, critical metrics in B2B SaaS vs. industry best practices (Salesforce, ServiceNow, etc.).
  • Be proactive to build new mechanisms to deliver results
  • Work closely with Project Managers and Sales teams to invoice customers and collect cash in a positive way.
  • Be proactive in your communications with customers.
  • Add value to our customers, respond to their requests in a timely manner.

KEY OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILTIES:


  • Will be comfortable and confident in working closely with our CEO on daily operations.
  • Will be organized and prepared for weekly meetings with our CEO and will establish a ‘rhythm of the business’. S/He will own the preparation and execution of the Company Scorecard that tracks all key KPIs across the business.
  • Will confidently take the initiative to create new operational processes to deliver a better customer experience, and/or find new ways to collect cash faster or more efficiently.
  • Will have a curiosity about cutting edge AI tools and technologies and will be willing to do the right process work to partner with IT and business owners to implement technology industry best practices as technology continues to enable us to automate and digitize key tasks.
  • Will be an active participant and leader of the Annual, Quarterly and Monthly budgeting process and cost optimization efforts.
  • Will take an active role with the designated Tax Accountant to ensure compliance with state and federal tax regulations. Work closely with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting of accounts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on strategic projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Strongly preferred: Beverage industry experience or previous experience in a fast-growing SaaS or AI start-up.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and other accounting principles.
  • Strong working knowledge of the accounting software, QuickBooks or similar.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks), MS Office Suite.
  • Highly organized with excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
