HSE Environment & Social Engineer (13/3/2025) 

We are looking for a HSE Environment & Social Engineer for one of our clients with the following details:  

Location: Muscat, Oman with frequent visits in Sohar.

Service Status: Resident (5 days per week – or 6 days tbc)

Start Date: Q2 of 2025

Estimated Service Duration: 12 months (renewable)

Qualifications & Experience Required

• Professional Experience (years): more than 12 years.
• Experience in similar position (years): 10 years (HSE and/or environment and social management). Level / Diploma: Engineering, or equivalent.
• Languages: English mandatory.

Activities:

• Interface with EPSCC contractors, OQ-EP, Sohar Industrial Port Company (SIPC), Solar plant project, local stakeholders, local authorities and Environment Authority.
• Ensure implement avoidance, minimisation and mitigation of environment and social impacts during EPSCC phase by EPSCC Contractors.
• Ensure EPSCC Contractors to establish Environment and Social Management plans (ESMP) for the construction of LNG project and elaborate Company ESMP for operation phase.
• Monitor compliance towards applicable Omani regulations and international standards, permits/license requirements, project standards, and contractual requirements.
• Ensure EPSCC Contractor to establish and implement Loss of Containment response plan, and regular drills.
• Actively contribute to deliver LNG project on schedule and budget without irreversible impacts to environment and social receptors.
• Participate to perform Environment and Social Audits to EPSCC Contractors on scheduled basis by LNG Project and audits carried out by external entities to LNG project.
• Contribute to prepare periodic HSE Reports for LNG project.
• Provide technical supports to ICV for stakeholder engagement, grievance resolutions and community development programs.
