Your Role
As a High School / Middle School Drama Teacher at TAISM, you will:
Inspire and Engage: Teach Drama, utilizing diverse, modern teaching methods at a modern liberal arts school that includes a robust performing arts program and features our state-of-the-art .
Foster Inclusivity: Create an inclusive classroom environment that values each student's unique strengths and needs, promoting a culture of respect, empathy, and collaboration.
Support Student Growth: Prioritize effective communication and provide meaningful feedback to deepen students' understanding and support their academic and personal development.
Collaborate and Innovate: Work closely with colleagues to enhance the educational experience, contribute to school-wide initiatives, and engage fully with the TAISM community.
Responsibilities include the direction of two co-curricular Middle and/or High School drama productions each year in addition to class-based productions and support for Elementary productions.
This comprehensive role also holds accountabilities associated with student performances, including direction, set design and creation, publicity, organization (lights, sound equipment, costumes, props) and overall management of TAISM’s MS and HS Drama programs.
"Must Have"
Valid, North American-recognized teaching certification
Bachelor’s Degree in Theater Arts Education or equivalent
Minimum of three years successful teaching and directing experience in drama programs at the High and/or Middle School levels
Technical Theater experience (including set design and construction)
"Nice to Have"
Master’s degree in Education, preferably in Theater Arts or equivalent
