Job Description

As a Shopkeeper at IKEA, you will lead, inspire, and motivate a diverse team to deliver exceptional customer service while driving sales performance. You will oversee the day-to-day management of the sales floor, ensuring that products are well-displayed, fully stocked, and easily accessible. You will collaborate closely with other departments to ensure a consistent, high-quality shopping experience.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Sales Leadership: Lead and drive sales performance by setting clear sales targets, monitoring results, and ensuring effective execution of promotional campaigns and sales initiatives.
  • Team Development: Coach and inspire a high-performing team, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities to ensure exceptional sales results.
  • Product Management: Oversee inventory levels, product placement, and visual merchandising to optimize sales, drive traffic, and maximize profitability.
  • Operational Excellence: Monitor and maintain store processes related to stock control, replenishment, and daily operations to ensure efficient workflows.
  • Performance Tracking: Analyze sales and performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure alignment in store operations and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate who brings a combination of leadership, retail experience, and passion for sales, along with a commitment to upholding IKEA’s core values.


  • Experience:
    • Proven experience in retail management, sales leadership, or a similar role, with a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
    • Experience in team management, coaching, and developing team members to meet performance expectations.
  • Sales Expertise:
    • Strong understanding of sales strategies, KPI tracking, and how to drive business growth in a retail environment.
    • Ability to analyze sales data, identify trends, and adjust strategies to optimize performance.
  • Leadership Skills:
    • Strong leadership and motivational skills, with the ability to inspire and lead a diverse team.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to collaborate with different departments and communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • Customer Focus:
    • A passion for delivering outstanding customer service, creating an enjoyable and seamless shopping experience for IKEA customers.
  • Problem-Solving:
    • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think on your feet and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
  • Organizational Skills:
    • Strong time management, organizational, and multitasking abilities to handle the demands of a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Technology Proficiency:
    • Comfortable using retail systems, sales tools, and data analytics software to track performance and make informed decisions.
  • Educational Requirements and Experience :
    • Master’s degree in Sales, Retail Management, or a related field.


    • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a managerial position within the retail industry, with a strong track record of achieving sales goals and driving business growth.


    • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and develop a diverse team to meet performance expectations.
