This role reports to the Director of Site Operations and is a key leader in Site Operations, responsible for the Maintenance and Metrology departments in a 24/7, high-throughput biologics production facility. The Sr. Manager of Maintenance & Metrology provides and supports the activities and operational requirements for effective delivery of services that include performance metrics, services, utilities upkeep, and manufacturing technical support across manufacturing, S&T, and R&D functions. This position has managerial responsibilities over a large technical organization comprised of front-line leaders, tradespeople, planners, and technicians that execute various maintenance tasks (predictive, planned, and demand) and includes managing the department budget and driving improvements to maintenance processes and asset efficiency.
• Lead site Maintenance Excellence Program (MEP) responsible for MEP KPIs and driving overall performance. Develop and present monthly KPI report-outs for the organization, track data related to KPIs, and lead improvement initiatives across the organization.
• Supervise the day-to-day activities of exempt and nonexempt technical personnel. Provides leadership for the organization, setting and executing the strategic vision of the department.
• Serve as the face of the organization to internal and external customers. Act as the conduit for communication between the department and site leadership, ensuring organizational changes, initiatives, and site performance are communicated to direct reports.
• Responsible for department performance management, including goal setting, growth plans, performance feedback, and performance assessments for direct reports.
• Ensure timely and effective execution of maintenance tasks including planned maintenance, demand maintenance, calibrations, troubleshooting, and all other work types in their area of responsibility.
• Manage scheduling and execution of external support groups and vendors performing work within the manufacturing and utility areas.
• Responsible for the Asset Life Cycle Management processes within Maximo, ABC’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including work order management and documentation compliance.
• Responsible for the department’s compliance with all policies and procedures, EH&S requirements, cGMP requirements, other regulatory body requirements (FDA, OSHA, EPA, etc.), and timely corrective actions to any gaps in these areas.
• Work with the Reliability Engineering department on Root Cause Analysis (RCA) in response to major equipment failures and execute Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) program initiatives to develop long-term solutions to recurring issues.
• Work with Engineering to review design and installation plans for new equipment and provide feedback on specifications to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations.

Qualifications:
• A bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or related discipline with 10+ years of relevant experience in engineering, maintenance, metrology, or reliability. A post-graduate education/degree may contribute towards the desired years of experience.
• 5+ years of experience leading a team with direct managerial responsibilities including, but not limited to, delivering formal and informal feedback, addressing performance concerns and rewarding high performers, and improving team performance.
• Experience in a cGMP environment is desired.
• Possesses a strong technical knowledge and application of concepts, practices, and procedures. Works on problems of complex scope where analysis of situations or data involves multiple competing factors. Exercises judgment and advises management as to the appropriate actions.
• Experience with diverse customer base with a track record of outstanding customer service. Maintains strong working relationships with internal and external collaborators. Listens to and understands others' points of view and articulates tactfully and respectfully one's own perspective orally, in writing, and in presentations.
• Requires strong attention to detail and mental concentration to ensure accuracy and compliance with procedures and regulatory conditions.
• Must be results driven, demonstrating strong problem solving and analytical skills to strive to meet all targets and metric standards as set by site/department and division leaders.
