Position Information Position Type Professional Staff Faculty Track Position Title Post-Doctoral Research Fellow Employment Status Full Time Months 12 Campus Biddeford, ME Description The University of New England (UNE ) in Biddeford, ME, is seeking a motivated and highly skilled Post-Doctoral Fellow to join the Department of Biomedical Sciences in the College of Osteopathic Medicine. The successful candidate will work in the Goode Laboratory, which is focused on neuro-immune cell communication in chronic and neuropathic pain syndromes. Research will specifically explore how T cells impact pain behaviors and neuronal response properties.
This position is part of the Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE ) in the Study of Pain and Sensory Function, a collaborative group of researchers offering access to excellent core facilities.

Investigate novel neuron-immune cell interactions related to chronic and neuropathic pain. Conduct behavior experiments using various mouse pain models Perform biochemical and cellular assays, including multi-color flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry/immunocytochemistry, confocal microscopy, multi-analyte profiling, and western blot. Independently and collaboratively design experiments, write protocols, and analyze data. Maintain detailed and organized notes, troubleshoot experimental challenges, and design follow-up experiments to resolve issues. Train and mentor technicians and students in laboratory techniques and procedures. Present research findings internally and externally, and prepare abstracts, manuscripts, and grant applications for funding. Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
A Ph.D. in Immunology, Neuroscience, or a related scientific field with 0-3 years of post-doctoral experience. Experience in immunology/neuroscience, cell culture, and immunochemical staining/flow cytometry is preferred but not required. Excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to think critically, solve problems, and troubleshoot experiments. Proficient in scientific writing, delivering presentations, and preparing abstracts, manuscripts, and grant proposals for funding.
