Abbvie Product Development Science and Technology (PDS&T) Analytical Development – Waltham is responsible for CMC analytical development activities for antibody drug conjugates (ADCs). We are building a team of highly skilled scientists and technical leaders in ADC development to drive the advancement of targeted cancer therapies to improve patient’s lives. The Analytical Development- Waltham team is responsible for late-phase to commercial method development, optimization, advanced characterization, process development support, regulatory authoring, and control strategy for ADCs. The team works cross-functionally with process development, regulatory, and quality with the Abbvie network and with contract manufacturing organization and contract laboratories.          

Responsibilities:

• With management design, execute and interpret critical experiments to answer scientific questions.  Understand the broad objectives of the project as well as their role in achieving those objectives, and modify experimental plan when required, to respond.
• Demonstrate understanding and hands on experience in analytical methods for monoclonal antibodies and ADC’s such as SEC, RP and IEX UPLC/HPLC, CE-SDS, iCIEF, SPR and UV spectrophotometer and support the establishment and development of these methods. Act as a resource or mentor for others.
• Meet experimental timelines and effectively organize and present scientific plans and data.
• Support the process characterization activities including sample management, testing and data analysis.
• Maintain laboratory notebook, record keeping, and laboratory safety guidelines.
• Responsible for efficiently processing and visualizing analytical data to facilitate project team decisions, with special attention to trends and correlations.

• Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent education, with typically 3 or more years’ experience or Master’s Degree or equivalent education (no additional experience.
• Theoretical and practical knowledge to carry out job function.
