The Project Officer will support the implementation and monitoring of activities under the Dutch Relief Alliance (DRA) project. World Vision, as the lead organization, will oversee partners responsible for delivering winterization and shelter interventions, ensuring protection mainstreaming throughout all activities. The Project Officer will ensure compliance with donor requirements, monitor project progress, provide technical guidance, and collaborate with implementing partners to deliver timely, safe support during the emergency response for IDPs in collective shelter in Akkar.
Ensure Implementation and Coordination with partners and target groups:
Implement assigned tasks, engage with partners and target groups, ensure data gathering, organize awareness and demonstration sessions, and manage purchases as per budget.
Commodities Distribution:
Manage beneficiary lists, ensure documentation, prepare daily reports, and assist with the distribution process.
Monitoring, Accountability, and Protection Mainstreaming:
Conduct monitoring and follow-up activities with local partners, support beneficiary feedback actions, and participate in lessons learned sessions.
Handle Reporting and recording:
File documents, prepare reports, track progress, etc..
Coordination with Local Partners:
Support Project Coordinator in spot checks, follow up meetings, weekly meetings, work plan and cash flow
Security and Compliance:
Adhere to security protocols, report incidents, and contribute to a positive security culture.
Other Duties as Required:
Participate in emergency response and perform other tasks assigned by the Line Manager.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Humanitarian Studies, Civil Engineering, or related field. Strong understanding of protection principles in humanitarian contexts. A valid driver’s license (more than 1 year old).
1-2 years of experience in the NGO sector, specifically in distributions and data gathering. Experience working with local partners, preferably in the shelter sector.
Good level of both English and Arabic (oral and written). Ability to travel across the country regularly for assessments and regular monitoring and evaluation. Ability to travel frequently and conduct field visits, including outdoor activities in potentially challenging environments. Demonstrated experience in monitoring and evaluation and data gathering in challenging environment, ensuring project compliance with donor requirements. Knowledge of protection mainstreaming, risk management, and safeguarding. Experience in monitoring local implementing partners
