The GBV and SRHR Officer will contribute to ensuring the quality of GBV and SRHR projects implemented by WVL’s partners and promoting integration with other sector interventions including Child Protection, Education Wash and Livelihood. Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Project coordinator, the GBV and SRHR Officer will be providing technical assistance to partners, assuring quality of programming and ensuring adequate coordination and communication on GBV & SRHR.

Monitoring and Implementation:



Work closely with WVL’s GEDSI technical specialist, and implementing partners to ensure that activities are implemented in a coordinated and phased manner, in accordance with WVL’s GBV approach, best practices and policy. Follow up with implementing partner on the timeline of the activities and report back to WVL regarding any challenges or issues. Provide technical guidance and direction including ongoing training, coaching and mentoring to partners’ staff members to ensure quality programming in compliance with WVL’s GBV & SRHR standards and policies. Coordinate closely with partner organisations’ teams to improve the quality of GBV & SRHR programmes and activities; Ensure that ethical and sound data collection and information management systems are in place for appropriate GBV analysis, planning, evaluation, and advocacy; Ensure regular communication with GBV & SRHR GEDSI to integrate appropriate technical inputs and priorities in program design implementation; Undertake regular field monitoring visits to assess progress and identify technical quality issues and/or other implementation issues, provide solutions and implement modifications as required.

Coordination and Communication:



Provide updates and reports on GBV & SRHR activities to the Project coordinator; Participate in SGBV Sub-Working Group, and other relevant coordination entities, when needed. Attend regular calls, meetings, etc. as required by WVL. Maintain flexibility to take on added responsibilities as and when needed.

Perform other duties as required:



Attend and participate in WVL’s spiritual nurture and other organizational events. Responsible of own security and actively contribute to a positive security culture. Report CP incidents as per the safeguarding policy guidelines. Abide by the security policies and procedures and report any incidents or breaches to line manager and / or security manager. Perform other duties as assigned by Line Manager.

Minimum Requirements:



A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or similar. At least three years of demonstrated experience working in the GBV and SRHR sectors. Strong experience in gender mainstreaming and gender transformative approaches. Strong experience in working with children, adolescents and youth. A good experience in disability inclusion. Strong commitment to safeguarding and gender policies both inside and outside the workplace. Excellent facilitation skills and ability to deliver trainings. Strong character traits, including team work, striving for high performance, emotional stability, resilience, adaptability, and ability to handle stress, strong initiative and self-motivation, cultural and gender sensitivity. The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically up to 80% of the time. Be prepared to travel to implementation sites as required.
