Financial Accountant – Beirut, Lebanon
Job Summary The Financial Accountant ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial records by managing general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end closings. Key tasks include overseeing accounts payable and receivable, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role supports strategic decision-making, internal controls, and audit processes, contributing to the organization’s financial health and success.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting: Prepare, examine, and analyze financial statements, reports, and records to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
General Ledger Management: Maintain the general ledger, reconcile accounts, and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded in a timely manner.
Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely payment and collection, as well as accurate ledger entries.
Month-End and Year-End Closing: Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Tax Compliance: Ensure tax filings (VAT, income tax, etc.) are accurately prepared and submitted in compliance with local regulations.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, and monitor expenditures to ensure alignment with financial goals.
Audit Preparation: Assist with audit processes, including preparing necessary documents and ensuring compliance with internal controls.
Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to provide insights into financial performance, identify trends, and make recommendations for cost control or efficiency improvements.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation and records, providing clear and concise reporting for stakeholders.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
Experience: 3+ years of experience in financial accounting or a related role. Experience in Logistics and Supply Chain is preferred.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
Knowledge: Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
Organizational Skills: Strong time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
