Finance Manager, Educational Institution – Beirut, Lebanon

Job Summary:
The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the school, ensuring fiscal health, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial planning. The role includes managing budgeting, accounting, reporting, and financial control processes to support the school’s long-term sustainability and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Strategy: • Develop and implement financial policies and strategies aligned with the school’s mission and goals.
• Prepare and manage annual budgets, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
• Conduct financial forecasting, risk assessment, and cost-benefit analysis.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management and the Board of Trustees.
Accounting & Financial Management:
• Oversee the preparation of financial statements, audits, and regulatory reports.
• Ensure accurate bookkeeping, cash flow management, and financial transactions.
• Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
• Maintain compliance with Lebanese financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting standards.
Revenue & Expense Management:
• Oversee tuition fee collection, scholarships, and financial aid programs.
• Monitor and control operational expenses, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
• Negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers for cost efficiency.
• Identify and implement financial sustainability initiatives.
Compliance & Risk Management:
• Ensure adherence to internal financial policies and external regulatory requirements.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, government bodies, and financial institutions.
• Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard financial assets.
Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting:
• Prepare and present financial reports to the School Director and Board of Trustees.
• Collaborate with academic and administrative departments to align financial strategies with school operations.
• Support fundraising, grants, and donor financial management as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Professional certification (CPA, CFA, CMA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
• Minimum 7-10 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the education sector.
• Strong knowledge of Lebanese accounting standards, tax laws, and financial regulations.
• Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Fluency in French is a Must
