The scope of work for Customs Clearance Customer Service generally involves assisting clients with the smooth handling of customs procedures, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing excellent support throughout the clearance process.


  • Guiding clients in preparing necessary documents for customs clearance, including invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
  • Following up with the teammates on the electronic submission of declarations.
  • Advising clients on import/export regulations, duties, and taxes.
  • Ensuring adherence to international trade laws and local customs regulations & keeping up to date with changes in customs rules and informing clients.
  • Coordinating between clients, customs authorities, and other relevant agencies.
  • Addressing inquiries about the status of shipments, delays, or additional requirements.
  • Communicating any issues, discrepancies, or changes in customs procedures.
  • Monitoring shipments during the customs process and updating clients on progress.
  • Generating reports on customs-related activities for internal and client use.
  • Assisting in the classification of goods under the correct Harmonized System (HS) codes.
  • Responding promptly to customer queries via phone, email, or in-person meetings.
  • Building strong relationships with clients by providing tailored solutions.
  • Offering post-clearance support, such as arranging storage or delivery.
