The Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) is seeking a Communications Assistant (Social Media Specialist) to enhance its digital presence and engagement. The selected candidate will develop and manage ESCWA’s social media strategy, create engaging content, analyze digital trends, and expand ESCWA’s network of influencers.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and manage ESCWA’s social media action plan. Maintain and oversee content across ESCWA’s platforms in both English and Arabic. Collaborate with designers to create visually appealing content. Implement editorial calendars for timely and strategic posting. Assist in developing communication plans with ESCWA clusters. Enhance brand awareness and online reputation. Tailor content to different social media platforms for maximum impact. Design promotional strategies for high-level meetings. Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for ESCWA’s social media channels. Monitor campaign effectiveness and generate periodic reports. Track and analyze user engagement, reach, and social media trends. Conduct training sessions on effective social media use. Identify and engage influencers to expand ESCWA’s digital network. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders for online advocacy.
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in communications, journalism, or a related field (required). Applications must include a copy of the educational degree. Minimum 10 years of professional experience in public information, social media strategy, and reporting. Experience working in an international setting is desirable. Fluency in English and Arabic (required). Knowledge of French is desirable.
