ROLE PURPOSE: The Child Rights Governance (CRG) Officer’s role, in general, is to promote the Rights of the Child in accordance with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child through co-operation with rights holders, local and regional organizations, institutions, and International Organizations.
Furthermore, the CRG Officer will be supporting the implementation of CRG projects’ activities both direct and indirect aimed at empowering civil society organizations and children to monitor and advocate for the implementation of child rights and to drive change on communal, national, and global level in relation child rights. The CRG Officer will work closely with the Inclusion and CRG Coordinator to ensure that the programme objectives are met. This includes budget as well as programmatic implementation and monitoring of activities both direct and indirect according to SCI standards.
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
CHILD SAFEGUARDING:
Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.
