Job Description
  • Supervise and manage the stewarding team, providing guidance, training, and support.
  • Ensure all kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils are cleaned and sanitized according to health and safety standards.
  • Oversee the inventory and storage of cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for cleaning and sanitation.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen and food service teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • Conduct regular inspections to maintain cleanliness and organization.
  • Manage waste disposal and recycling programs.
  • Monitor and control costs related to cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
  • Handle any maintenance issues related to kitchen equipment and facilities.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Chief Steward or in a similar leadership role within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning and sanitation standards and procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Certification in food safety or sanitation is a plus.
