National UN Specialist Volunteers in Kuwait are entitled to:
- Monthly Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) in the amount of KWD 799.41

Under the overall guidance of the Deputy Resident Representative and the direct supervision of the Programme Analyst, the Youth Programme Officer will be the focal point and the coordinator for both the Youth Project.
Task description
Under the direct supervision of the Programme Analyst, the Youth Programme Officer will undertake the following tasks:
• Review and analyse the UNDP’s planned activities with the communities and provide recommendations for
implementation and including monitoring and evaluation.
• Coordinate with the relevant stakeholders to implement the related activities of the Projects action plan as well as
coordination and advocacy.
• Support technical assistance to strengthen the disability-inclusiveness.
• Provide capacity-building training on Youth Empowerment -related topics to the Implementing partners. The Youth
Programme Officer shall develop a training plan based on the developed capacity building training planned in close
collaboration with the relevant partners entities to ensure it responds to the capacity building needs they had identified
to actively implement UNDP’s projects.
• Support the data and knowledge management of the office regarding Youth Empowerment and its mainstreaming,
tagging and documentation.

• Support communication, visibility and communication for development activities in collaboration with relevant Sections
and Units within UNDP.
• Provide support in facilitating and reporting on meetings, trainings, and fieldwork, within and outside Kuwait
• Support the financial management of activities implemented with Government and other implementing partners and
support end of activity financial reporting
Eligibility criteria
Nationality
Candidate must be a national or legal resident of the country of assignment.
Requirements
Required experience
3 years of experience in with a specific focus on government and civil society strengthening, including conducting analyses, action planning, making recommendations, and reporting.
• Experience working to develop and implement programming that supports Youth and members of marginalized
communities to participate in civil society.
• Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is desirable but not an asset.
• Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range
of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different
levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development.
• Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a
multicultural team of international and national personnel.
• Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and
email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment.
• Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines.
• Have affinity with or interest in children, volunteerism as a mechanism for durable development, and the UN System.
