Veterinarian - Livestock

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Veterinarian - Livestock to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing medical care and treatment to livestock, ensuring their health and well-being in a variety of agricultural settings. This includes diagnosing and treating diseases, advising farmers and ranchers on herd management, and working to improve the overall productivity and sustainability of livestock operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions and diseases in livestock such as cattle, sheep, goats, and poultry. Administer medications, perform surgeries, and provide emergency care as needed.
• Conduct regular health checks and preventative care to ensure the well-being of animals. Perform vaccinations, parasite control, and health screenings.
• Advise farmers and ranchers on best practices for herd management, including nutrition, breeding, and disease prevention. Develop and implement herd health programs and management plans.
• Conduct farm visits to assess the health and condition of livestock, providing on-site diagnostics, treatment, and support for farm operations.
• Collect and analyze samples (e.g., blood, tissue, and stool) to diagnose diseases and other health issues. Interpret diagnostic test results and recommend appropriate treatments.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of medical treatments, animal health history, and farm visits. Provide detailed reports to farm owners and management.
• Work closely with farm owners, ranchers, and agricultural professionals to provide education on livestock care, disease prevention, and effective animal husbandry practices.
• Ensure all veterinary practices comply with local, state, and federal regulations concerning livestock health and food safety.
• Be available for emergency on-call situations, providing urgent medical care when necessary.
