VDI Administrator - Kuwait

Experienced and highly skilled VDI Horizon System Administrator to manage and support our virtual desktop infrastructure, with strong background in VMware Horizon, comprehensive knowledge of VDI technologies, and a proven track record of managing and optimizing VDI environments. This role involves provisioning, maintaining, and troubleshooting VDI systems to ensure optimal performance and user satisfaction.

Experience

• Support and manage VMware Horizon View (VDI) infrastructure.
• Responsible for analysis, administration and support of VMWare Horizon View VDI.
• Provisions servers including adding, allocating and managing vDisks for end-user devices.
• VMware AppVolumes Administration support
• AppStack build, Packages Installation and maintenance.
• Develop scripts to automate the monitoring of VDI environment.
• Responds to End User requests for technical support and assistance within established procedures.
• Desktop Pool build and maintenance.
• Managing and troubleshoot migration of Citrix XenDesktop environment to Horizon environment will be added advantage.
• Knowledge in ITIL tools like Remedy, etc.
• Knowledge in ITIL processes like Incident management, Change management, etc.
• Day to day administration of L1/L2 BAU tasks
• Coordinating with different stakeholders and working with offshore teams. Perform RCA for Major Incidents.
• Experience with upgrading and maintaining VMware Horizon, AppVolumes, DEM, UAG, and NSX.
• Hands-on experience in scripting and automation, particularly using PowerShell, for VDI health checks and other tasks.
• Proven ability to perform regular health checks, maintenance, and patch management for VDI systems.
• Experience in performing capacity planning and performance optimization of VDI infrastructures.
• Knowledge of security practices, including renewing certificates and applying patches for vulnerabilities.
