Position Title:Senior Systems Engineer - ServersLocation:Al Ahmadi, KuwaitStatus:Full Time – RegularFLSA Category:ExemptJob Overview: Tribalco has an immediate opening for the Senior Systems Engineer - Servers is responsible for managing and optimizing server infrastructure for critical DoD operations in Kuwait. The role includes providing leadership in server design, implementation, and maintenance while ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable systems to support mission-critical services. The position demands expertise in server hardware, virtualization, networking, and security in compliance with DoD regulations and industry standards. Key Responsibilities:
Server Management: Design, install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers (Windows, Linux, and Unix environments) to ensure optimal performance and availability. System Architecture: Lead the design and architecture of server infrastructures to meet operational needs, ensuring scalability and high availability. Virtualization & Cloud Solutions: Implement and manage virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and integrate cloud-based solutions to optimize resources. Security Compliance: Ensure that all server infrastructures comply with DoD Information Assurance (IA) standards, including STIGs, DISA requirements, and NIST frameworks. Monitoring & Maintenance: Establish and maintain server monitoring tools for performance, capacity planning, and troubleshooting. Ensure timely patching, updates, and system upgrades. Backup & Disaster Recovery: Develop and manage backup strategies, disaster recovery (DR) solutions, and continuity of operations plans. Automation: Automate routine tasks to increase operational efficiency using scripting languages (PowerShell). Documentation: Create and maintain accurate documentation of systems, configurations, processes, and policies. Collaboration: Work closely with network, storage, and cybersecurity teams to ensure seamless integration of infrastructure components. Incident Response: Provide Tier 3 support for server-related incidents and outages, lead root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
Required Qualifications: Experience: 7+ years of experience in server engineering, with a focus on combatant command engineering IT solutions for NIPRNET, SIPRNET, and CPN-X (or other Coalition network environments) Certifications:
DoD 8570.01 M compliance for IAT Level III Computer Environment Certificate for Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) One of the following VMware Certifications (VCP6), or NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA) Clearance: Active DoD Secret Security Clearance or higher is required.
Skills and Knowledge:
Strong experience with Windows Server, Linux (RHEL/CentOS), and Unix systems. Expertise in virtualization technologies (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V). Advanced understanding of DoD security compliance frameworks, including DISA STIGs, RMF, and NIST. Proficiency in automation using scripting languages (PowerShell). Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and VLAN configuration. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work in a high-stress, mission-critical environment and support deployments in remote or austere locations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in overseas or deployed operations. Experience with enterprise-grade backup solutions and disaster recovery technologies. Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Work Environment: Location: Kuwait, with potential deployments to other locations as needed. Conditions: This position may require extended hours, working in challenging environments, and on-call availability to support 24/7 operations.
