Job Description:Special Needs Teachers required at a school in Kuwait.Overall the school is in a transformational phase, this new department will service a section of the Kuwaiti student population presently unsupported. It will be a challenge but also an opportunity to design and actuate an outstanding service that will be utilized by parents across Kuwait.This role will include developing and supporting effective practices for children with SLD, PMLD, CLDD, other challenging behaviour and additional needs. There will be a heavy focus on providing ‘quality first’ teaching, monitoring pupil progress, as well as, introducing and embedding associated paperwork for statutory assessment within this unique department.The role requires extensive knowledge and insight of the SEND Code of Practice. Define appropriate activities for the students in relation to the curriculum. Assess students who have long or short-term learning difficulties and work with colleagues to identify individual student special needs. Liaise with other professionals, such as social workers, speech therapists, physiotherapists and educational psychologists. Liaise closely with parents and guardians to enable students to make academic progress and overcome social and emotional barriers to learning. They will also promote the school's ethos, vision, policies and procedures at all times.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Special Needs
A TEACHING QUALIFICATION FROM ONE OF THE FOLLOWING COUNTRIES: UK, US, CA, AU, NZ, Scandinavian countries
MA in Supporting Students with Special Educational Needs preferable
Must have excellent English Speaking skills
Must have excellent classroom management skills and able to deal effectively with student behaviour issues
Required Experience:• Minimum 2 years teaching experience with Special Needs students• Is culturally sensitive, dependable, flexible and able to work in a continuously changing environmentMonthly Salary Range:Competitive TAX FREE salary 725 to 1175 KD depending on experience, and qualifications Housing:Furnished accommodation of 1 or 2 bedroom flat or Housing Allowance can be provided depending on family sizeHealth Insurance Coverage:Health Insurance provided for employee onlyAnnual Air Tickets:Annual return Air ticket to home country provided for employee onlyLeave:In addition to official holidays, paid leave is allocated as per school calendar/breaks.
