Oracle Developer and Database Administrator
Informational Technology (IT) - Jahrah, Kuwait Position Overview:
AIU is looking for a skilled Oracle Developer and Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and maintain the university’s Oracle database systems while designing custom applications. This hybrid role requires a professional adept at both database administration and development to ensure optimal performance, security, and functionality.
Responsibilities:
Manage, monitor, and maintain Oracle database systems to ensure reliability and security. Develop and implement efficient database solutions using Oracle SQL and PL/SQL. Perform database tuning and optimization to maintain performance standards. Design, develop, and test Oracle-based applications to meet business requirements. Plan and execute database backup and recovery strategies to safeguard institutional data. Troubleshoot database-related issues and ensure system integrity. Collaborate with other IT teams and end-users to integrate databases with existing applications. Document all database structures, configurations, and procedures.
Requirements:
Proven experience as an Oracle DBA and Developer with expertise in database administration and development. Strong knowledge of Oracle database architecture and performance tuning. Proficiency in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle tools such as RMAN and Data Pump. Experience with database security protocols and backup/recovery procedures. Familiarity with Oracle APEX, Forms, and Reports is a plus. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Database Management, or a related field.
