The Cost Controller plays a crucial role in the catering and food service industry by ensuring that all financial aspects of the business are managed effectively. This position involves monitoring and analyzing costs associated with food production, labor, and overhead to maximize profitability while maintaining quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, combined with a passion for the food service industry. They will work closely with various departments to implement cost-saving measures and improve overall financial performance.

Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor and analyze food and labor costs to ensure budget adherence.
  2. Prepare detailed cost reports and forecasts for management review.
  3. Collaborate with the purchasing department to negotiate supplier contracts and pricing.
  4. Conduct regular audits of inventory and supplies to minimize waste.
  5. Implement cost control measures and track their effectiveness.
  6. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial plans.
  7. Provide training and support to staff on cost management practices.
  8. Analyze variances between actual and budgeted costs and recommend corrective actions.
  9. Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions.
  10. Support management in strategic decision-making through financial analysis.
