Ensure effective process control, including mixer preparation and Clean-in-Place (CIP) procedures, to maintain product quality and safety standards.
Ensure sample turnaround time objectives and key performance indicators are met or exceeded, including sample preparation, analysis, data review, and data interpretations.
Perform routine and non-routine physical/chemical and biological analyses by reviewing test results and reporting deviations for raw materials, in-process materials, semi-finished, and finished goods.
Ensure that unconfirmed products are isolated in the holding area and that only finished products that meet specifications are delivered to customers.
Monitor chemical processes and test the quality of products to ensure they meet UBC's quality standards and specifications.
Monitor and manage Critical Control Points (CCP), ensuring food safety risks are identified and controlled in compliance with food safety standards.
Oversee the implementation of Operational Prerequisite Programs (OPRP) and Prerequisite Programs (PRP), ensuring compliance with food safety standards and regulations.
Maintain inventory of chemicals, prepare solutions and reagents for laboratory use, and safely dispose of waste chemical materials.
Handle and maintain sophisticated lab instruments such as Ion Chromatography (IC), Hach water quality testing equipment, Automatic Titrator, Ultraviolet (UV) Spectrometer, and other specialized equipment.
Ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of lab equipment, following established protocols to prevent contamination, ensure accuracy in results, and maintain a safe working environment.
Assist in the installation and commissioning of new instruments in the laboratory.
Ensure all lab equipment is calibrated and that relevant certification documents are up to date and properly maintained.
Analyze and compile data from research tests to diagnose malfunctions or determine equipment/process efficiency.
Maintain accurate records of laboratory procedures and results and prepare analytical reports for the Laboratory Supervisor’s review.
Conduct statistical process control (SPC) and monitor capability trends to ensure process performance and quality standards are consistently met.
Troubleshoot and report any damage, defects, or problems with laboratory assets, including lab instruments.
Maintain and report chemical inventory, and ensure proper management of laboratory materials.
Monitor and control production line processes to ensure continuous, efficient, and safe operations, while maintaining product quality standards.
Perform analytical tests such as pH measurement, titration, and spectroscopy to assess the chemical composition, purity, and integrity of water samples.
Conduct physicochemical analyses and tests on raw water, treated water, and by-products in accordance with the quality control plan to ensure compliance with water quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Carry out physical tests such as turbidity, dissolved oxygen, conductivity, and total dissolved solids (TDS).
Ensure all testing equipment is properly calibrated before conducting any water quality tests.
Conduct water quality tests in accordance with established protocols and industry standards.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of all water quality tests and results.
Document any deviations from water quality standards and report them to the Direct Manager for necessary corrective actions.
Perform backwash and sanitation of equipment, including carbon filters, to ensure optimal performance and hygiene.
Prepare water salts according to required specifications for the water treatment process.
Perform regular cleaning of equipment to maintain operational efficiency and sanitation standards.
Ensure proper reporting and documentation of quality control activities, including test results, deviations, and corrective actions.
Prepare chemicals for boilers to maintain proper water quality and system performance.
Oversee Reverse Osmosis (RO) operations, including the addition of necessary chemicals and monitoring of all parameters to ensure optimal system functionality and performance.
Perform ad-hoc and other duties related to the job as assigned by the Direct Manager.
