CAD Supervisor

The CAD Supervisor is a key figure in the IT Services sector, responsible for overseeing the creation and management of CAD drawings and designs. This role requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in CAD operations, particularly in a supervisory capacity. The CAD Supervisor will work closely with various stakeholders, including engineering departments, to establish drafting procedures that utilize client setups and GIS data to produce multidisciplinary CAD drawings for proposed projects. This position demands a high level of technical proficiency in CAD software and a strong understanding of design standards and practices.

Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate with all relevant stakeholders to develop and implement drafting procedures that align with engineering department directives.
2. Create and manage multidisciplinary CAD drawings, ensuring accuracy through field verification and GIS integration.
3. Prepare comprehensive reports, visual presentations, and maintain a drawing registry for project documentation.
4. Ensure effective document control, including backup protocols, personnel progress updates, and adherence to established standards and procedures.
5. Facilitate the printing and distribution of drawings and documents as requested by the Project Manager.
6. Monitor project timelines and deliverables, ensuring that all CAD outputs meet quality and compliance standards.
7. Conduct regular reviews of CAD designs to ensure they meet project specifications and client requirements.
8. Provide training and support to junior CAD staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
9. Stay informed about advancements in CAD technology and software, integrating new tools into workflows as necessary.
10. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of CAD designs into broader project frameworks.

Preferred Candidate:

1. Minimum of 10 years of experience as a draughtsman in Piping, Electrical, or Instrumentation disciplines.
2. Proficient in CAD software such as AutoCAD and MicroStation.
3. Experience with GIS software applications, with a preference for familiarity with ESRI ArcGIS.
4. Strong understanding of mapping projection systems, coordinate transformations, and related challenges.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with various teams.
6. Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality assurance in all design outputs.
7. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines under pressure.
8. Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
9. Willingness to adapt to new technologies and processes in the CAD field.
10. Experience in project management is a plus.
