Barista Maestros are responsible for leading a shift when required to do so, opening and closing the store to the standard required by Costa. Train and support all Baristas in delivering the unbeatable coffee experience to all our customers.
Job Responsibilities
Lead the shift when assigned by the Store Manager, taking responsibility for delivering brand standards in: Cash management, opening and closing the store, ordering consumables/ food, monitoring/ customer service, and accepting deliveries
Perform all tasks as defined in the Barista Job Description
Train all new team members to Barista level using the Barista Core and Coffee Skills
Check the quality of the espresso by accurately measuring & recording the grind & dose
Ensure that all drinks are made and served to brand standard
Ensure that all coffee equipment is in good working order
Complete a monthly audit of the Coffee Excellence Brand Standards on Costa Check, review scores, and action plan accordingly
Undertake the daily Health and Safety/Food Safety walk round
Brief in & communicate any changes to drinks recipes or the launch of any seasonal drinks and food
Ensure all food & beverage items are delivered and displayed as per standard

Passionate about coffee standards
Passionate about training and coaching
Brand Ambassador
Full knowledge of existing Costa standards
Must be an accredited Barista
Completed core & coffee skills workbooks
Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
Good organization skills – ability to plan training
