JOB OVERVIEW:
Under the direct supervision of the Head of Programs at the Anera Jordan office, and with technical
support from the MEAL Coordinator, and other team members, the Project Officer will provide essential
support to Anera’s projects in the field and will be responsible for the technical follow-up on different
projects’ aspects, ensuring that plans are in line with targets, verifying that implementation is consistent
and high-quality across technical areas and that project outcomes respond to beneficiaries needs.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and follow up on project work plans, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with the direct
supervisor and relevant teams.
• Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., finance, logistics, communications) for seamless
implementation.
• Lead all administrative aspects of the project, processing financial and operational transactions per
ANERA and donor policies.
• Oversee the distribution of project resources, ensuring efficiency, equity, and compliance.
• Deliver awareness sessions and community-based campaigns to promote activities and enhance
engagement.
• Follow up on monitoring and evaluation activities in coordination with the MEAL Coordinator to
ensure objectives and targets are met.
• Prepare monthly reports on activities, progress, challenges, and requested support.
• Support the preparation of technical narrative reports for internal and external stakeholders within
deadlines.
• Serve as the focal point for local partners, including private sector entities, managing relationships and
providing technical guidance.
• Conduct stakeholder mapping through field visits, engaging the private sector and potential program
partners.
• Strengthen relationships with refugees, host community leaders, and municipal actors to maintain
beneficiary access.
• Provide technical guidance to field teams, partners, and project assistants, ensuring adherence to best
practices.
• Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring all expenditures align with approved plans and donor
regulations.
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with project activities, ensuring compliance with safeguarding
principles and ethical guidelines.
• Supervise and mentor project assistants, providing regular feedback and guidance to enhance
performance.
• Ensure regular communication with the direct supervisor regarding project progress and processes.
• Participate in regular team meetings to share updates, resolve challenges, and maintain alignment.
• Support the overall achievement of grant activities and deliverables with partners.
• Document lessons learned and best practices to inform future projects.
• Conduct other duties as assigned by the supervisor to achieve organizational goals.
WORK CONDITION:
QUALIFICATIONS:
• University degree in social sciences, program management, or relevant field.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience managing programs with refugee populations, and
vulnerable communities in Jordan.
• Demonstrated experience in project implementation, M&E, and budgeting procedures and guidelines.
• Experience working with and coordinating with local authorities, donors, UN bodies, NGOs, INGOs,
and other stakeholders including grassroots organizations.
• Familiar with the principles and processes of project cycle management.
• Strong organization and time management skills, flexible, and able to handle pressure well.
• Demonstrated ability to build successful partnerships with stakeholders from different backgrounds.
• Strong written and oral communication skills (in English and Arabic), effective in representation and
liaison with external parties.
