About the role
The Production Lead will oversee a multidisciplinary team of 2D/Concept Artists, Interior Designers, and 3D Artists to ensure the successful execution of project goals. They will act as the key liaison between stakeholders, internal teams, and outsourced collaborators, driving project progress while adhering to deadlines, quality standards, and project requirements. This role demands a dynamic leader with strong technical and artistic expertise in either 2D or 3D design for video games, coupled with proven team leadership experience
Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Coordination
Lead and mentor a creative team of 2D/Concept Artists, Interior Designers, and 3D Artists. Provide guidance, feedback, and support to ensure team members achieve their potential and deliver high-quality work. Foster a collaborative and productive working environment, encouraging creativity and innovation.
Project Management
Plan, assign, and monitor tasks to ensure timely delivery of all project milestones. Ensure all deliverables meet the project’s artistic vision, technical standards, and quality expectations. Oversee adherence to project rules and requirements, ensuring consistency across all outputs.
Communication and Collaboration
Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing updates and addressing feedback effectively. Collaborate with internal and external departments, including design, development, and production, to align on project goals and expectations. Coordinate with outsourcing teams to ensure deliverables meet project standards and specifications and follow the guidelines provided.
Artistic Contribution
Leverage strong 2D or 3D skills to contribute to the project as needed, whether through design, troubleshooting, or providing creative direction. Review and critique team outputs to maintain consistency and alignment with the project's vision.
Adaptability and Problem-Solving
Anticipate project challenges and implement proactive solutions to keep the team and project on track. Quickly adapt to changing requirements or unforeseen issues, maintaining a positive and goal-oriented approach.
Mentorship and Development
Provide training and mentorship to team members, fostering growth and upskilling. Encourage a culture of continuous learning and adaptability within the team.
Market Research
Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in concept art and visual development. Conduct market research to identify opportunities for innovation and improvements in production.
Education & Experience
Strong artistic background with proven skills in either 2D or 3D design for video games. At least 5 years of experience in the gaming industry, including roles in team leadership or project management. A track record of working on diverse projects, demonstrating versatility and expertise.
Skills & Competencies
Proficiency in industry-standard tools such as Blender, Maya, Photoshop, or similar software. Familiarity with game engines like Unreal Engine or Unity. Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
Attributes
Dynamic and adaptable, with a proactive problem-solving mindset. Proven ability to manage and inspire creative teams. Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with stakeholders and collaborators. Passion for video games and a commitment to delivering exceptional player experiences.
