King Hussein Cancer Center is seeking to hire the following vacancy:
Medical Physicist III
The Medical Physicist III is expected to have the theoretical background on the physics of radiation therapy and should demonstrate his/her ability and willingness to perform all routine clinical duties concerning with external beam treatment. The physicist should learn all the quality assurance procedures required by the department and should be able to perform them well.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible to ensure routine clinical work is done correctly and thrives to learn complex techniques used in the department Performs treatment planning for radiotherapy patients in all known modalities based on the department’s guidelines. Participate in training for other levels physicists and trainees. Maintains accurate patients' records according to departments’ policies and procedures. Performs independent MU calculations for all radiotherapy patients. Follows the established QA procedures implemented in the department for patients and machines. Stays abreast of advances in technology through self-development, training, and research. Maintains patient’s confidentiality and act in an ethical and professional manner in accordance with the codes of behavior prescribed by the profession and in accordance with the policies of KHCC. Participate in continuing education. Participate in quality improvement processes. Performs other related duties as requested by the direct supervisor. This job may require working variable shift hours as determined by the department's needs.
Education & Professional Experience (essential minimum requirement):
Bachelor's degree in Medical Physics. Master degree in Medical Physics is a plus. Radiation licensure is a must. Computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint). Excellent communication skills. Ability to work under pressure
