Job Description
Ensure the safety, functionality, and compliance of lifting equipment in various industrial settings. Conduct thorough inspections and testing of lifting equipment (e.g., cranes, hoists, slings, shackles) to ensure compliance with local and international safety regulations (e.g., LOLER, OSHA). Prepare detailed reports on the condition of lifting equipment, recommending necessary repairs or maintenance. Identify wear, defects, or malfunctions and ensure timely corrective action. Oversee safe lifting operations to minimize risks to personnel and equipment. Stay updated on safety standards and regulations related to lifting equipment. Provide training and guidance to operational staff on safe lifting practices.
Qualifications
3-5 years of experience as a lifting inspector or in a related role. In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, mechanical systems, and inspection techniques. Must hold relevant certifications such as LEEA (Lifting Equipment Engineers Association) or equivalent. Strong understanding of local and international lifting standards (e.g., LOLER, PUWER, ASME B30). Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and inspection reports. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety. Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and producing clear, concise reports.
