Job Description Oversees, and manages the provision of all legal services to the company to ensure maximum protection of its legal rights, effectively guarantee legal conformity, and to maintain its operations within the limits. prescribed by the applicable laws and regulations. Provides strategic guidance, consultation, and support to senior management on a comprehensive range of legal and associated issues involved in carrying out the mission of the company. Responsibilities
Oversee delivery of legal services and resources to accomplish company's goals, strategies and priorities.
Provide legal counsel and guidance to the General Manager and the upper management on all legal matters.
Provide overall support and consultancy to commercial business units within the business in connection with day-to-day operations and decision-making process on a variety of legal and compliance related matters.
Anticipate and identify legal issues in order to develop legal strategies and solutions, often in situations of political, public relations, or financial risk.
Monitor and enforce compliance with the Code of Business Conduct as well as the Company's compliance policies, procedures and systems that govern and monitor compliance with all laws and regulations relevant to the company.
Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of contracts, communications with suppliers, customers, authorities and other stakeholders
Draft, review, and approve official corporate policies, procedures, regulations, bylaws, and other legal documents of the company and various business units.
Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the organization's goals and objectives; training, supervision, and evaluation of legal unit staff (if any).
Initiate and develop informational and educational programs and provide training on various legal issues to promote best practice.
Maintaining proper corporate interactions with the relevant local, governmental bodies, authorities, legislatures and the community at large;
Assist in the nomination and retention of external counsel(s), as required, to obtain legal opinions or to handle claims and litigation;
Coordinate with external counsel; supervise legal work progress of other attorneys, counsel; consults, and oversee the representation of the company and upper management in judicial, administrative proceedings, and in negotiations.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 6 years related work experience in a multi-national organization.
Previous legal, including relevant investigations experience.
Ability to translate legal requirements to practical suggestions and real-world solutions.
Ability to self-start and self-direct work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize and work simultaneously on multiple projects, with strong attention to detail.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence, build consensus and drive change.
Project management skills including consulting and facilitation skills.
