Description: Responsibilities: •Conduct daily and periodic safety inspections in the workplace to identify and rectify potential hazards. •Report inspection results to the Safety Engineer for further analysis and necessary actions. •Participate in accident investigations, collect relevant data, and assist in preparing investigation reports. •Monitor corrective actions to ensure timely implementation. •Support the implementation of safety policies and procedures in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. •Ensure employees understand and adhere to safe practices and procedures. •Assist in organizing and conducting safety training sessions for employees. •Contribute to awareness campaigns to promote a safety culture. •Assist in executing emergency evacuation plans. •Conduct regular employee training on emergency response procedures. •Ensure the availability and functionality of firefighting and personal protective equipment on-site. •Conduct periodic safety checks and coordinate maintenance. •Work with evacuation and response teams to carry out regular drills. •Evaluate drill effectiveness and propose improvements. •Monitor compliance with designated no-smoking areas and report violations to the Safety Engineer. •Oversee pedestrian pathways and vehicle routes to ensure safety. •Monitor adherence to speed limits and traffic safety measures. •Assist in installing traffic and safety signs at critical points to enhance visibility and traffic flow. •Conduct regular training sessions for both pedestrians and vehicle drivers to raise awareness about traffic laws and safe behaviors. •Perform routine safety inspections (GEMBA audits) in collaboration with the Safety Engineer. •Conduct safety inspections of: •Chemical spill response equipment and diphoterine containers. •First aid equipment and ensure its efficiency. •Self-contained breathing apparatuses, including troubleshooting and refilling. •CPR devices. •Firewater isolation valves. •Fire extinguishers and replace as necessary. •Fall protection equipment, safety belts, ladders, and self-retracting fall arrestors. •Identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations. Requirements: •Education: Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety. •Certifications: •Professional safety certifications from the Occupational Safety Directorate and Ministry of Labor. •Certifications such as IOSH, OHST (Occupational Health and Safety Technician), NEBOSH, ISO 45001, and OHSAS. •Experience: 7 years of experience in occupational health and safety, particularly in high-risk industries. •Knowledge: •Familiarity with occupational health and safety laws and regulations. •Ability to analyze risks and implement appropriate preventive measures. •Strong communication and training skills for employee safety awareness. •Skills: •Strong analytical skills. •Excellent communication skills for interaction with teams and stakeholders. •Risk management abilities. •Advanced computer proficiency. •Proficiency in English (advanced level). •Organizational and prioritization skills. •Decision-making and problem-solving skills. •Ability to build strong collaborative relationships.
