King Hussein Cancer Center is seeking to hire the following vacancy:
Dietitian
Job Requirements:
Perform nutritional assessment as per patient nutritional assessment and reassessment policy and document the assessment and recommendations for nutrition plan of care in the patients’ medical record. Follow up the implementation of the plan and the progress of the patients nutritionally. Educate the patient and his family about the nutritional needs and dietary recommendations, and document the education in the patient medical record in interdisciplinary family patient education form. Perform consultation for patients in need for parenteral nutrition, calculate the required calories, nutrients, vitamins and trace elements after coordinating with pharmacy and concerned physicians, perform daily follow up for patients on parenteral nutrition as per Adult Total Parenteral Nutrition policy POLPT-23R7 , and Pediatric Total Parenteral policy POLPT-26R7 . Make recommendations regarding method of enteral tube feeding, type and volume of the formula, monitor the nutritional progress of the patients and the tolerance of the feeding minimum twice weekly as per Enteral Nutrition policy POLNUT-05R8 . Attend ICU / PICU rounds (if possible), and the weekly management rounds with clinical departments. Cooperate with other health care services as speech therapy and pharmacy to provide comprehensive nutritional care to the patients Perform adult and pediatric nutrition clinics (only after 2 years of clinical experience). Review the diet orders for the inpatients, assure compatibility with the physicians order and medical history as DM ,CKD,…etc., and document that on ATS system Train external trainees on different nutrition services ( only after 2 years of KHCC experience) Coordinate patients’ special requests and coordinate with chefs. Attend meals dispensing in the kitchen to assure special meal compatibility with the patient diet order. Participate in quality projects and research project. Participate in KHCC cancer awareness days and conferences. Participate in preparation of educational materials of the unit. Attend unit meetings. Maintain patient confidentiality and act in an ethical and professional manner in accordance with the codes of behaviour prescribed by the profession and in accordance with the policies of KHCC. Perform any other related tasks as assigned by the direct supervisor. This job my require working variable shift hours as determined by the department needs.
Education and Professional Experience (essential minimum requirement):
B.Sc. Degree in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics. Excellent Problem solving skills Excellent command of English Excellent communication skills and Ability to work under pressure
