The Data Migration Lead will spearhead data migration efforts for a large-scale ERP transformation project within the utilities sector. The Data Migration Lead will be located in Amman, Jordan, between the client’s site & Avertra office, working alongside the SAP team in India. This project involves upgrading the existing ECC system to an ERP system, specifically focusing on Industry Specific for Utilities functions, and implementing greenfield solutions to replace legacy systems supporting business functions like finance and control, materials management, plant maintenance, project management, asset management, warehouse management, and asset accounting. The Data Migration Lead will ensure a seamless migration process with minimal business disruption, maintaining data quality and integrity across utility-specific and business-critical modules. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement a comprehensive data migration strategy that includes data cleansing, extraction, transformation, validation, and loading (ETL) processes for Industry Specific for Utilities and other legacy modules migrating to the new ERP system.Lead the data migration work stream by setting up governance, defining processes, and establishing tools and timelines to ensure smooth data migration.Work closely with business process owners and cross-functional teams to define data mapping, transformation rules, and validation between legacy systems and the new ERP, ensuring alignment with utility-specific requirements.Collaborate with experts in to manage the migration of utility, ERP, Procurement, Warehouse Management, Logistics, Finance data. (metering, billing, customer management) while working with technical teams on migrating data related to finance and control, materials management, plant maintenance, and other business functions.Ensure data quality by conducting thorough validation, reconciliation, and audits to maintain data integrity throughout the migration process.Coordinate with infrastructure teams to manage data migration tools and environments, ensuring compatibility and performance optimization for the new ERP system.Provide regular status updates and reporting to project management and key stakeholders to ensure transparency and accountability.Manage data migration risks, addressing challenges such as data discrepancies, legacy system complexities, and tight deadlines.Support post-migration activities, including validation, troubleshooting, and stabilization during system go-live, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal business disruption.Additional Strategic Responsibilities: Data Migration Strategy and Governance: Define a high-level strategy for data archiving, storage, and migration, aligning with organizational goals for future data accessibility and compliance.Information to Be Migrated: Determine the scope and retention requirements of data to be migrated, archived, or discarded, in consultation with business and IT stakeholders.Strategic Database Storing: Establish best practices and guidelines for storing critical data in the new ERP system to ensure easy retrieval, efficient performance, and robust security.RequirementsRequired Skills: Extensive experience leading data migration projects within ERP landscapes, especially in greenfield implementations.Expertise in ERP data migration tools for extraction, transformation, and loading.Proven track record in migrating data from legacy systems (e.g., COBALT or other proprietary utility systems) to ERP, with a solid understanding of utility-specific data structures.Strong knowledge of utility-relevant business functions and the ability to translate them into data migration requirements.Hands-on experience with data mapping, data cleansing, and validation in complex, multi-functional ERP environments.Familiarity with ERP data models and best practices for migrating to cloud-based ERP solutions.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with strong stakeholder management and project leadership capabilities.Experience:10+ years in data migration, with a strong focus on ERP greenfield implementations.5+ years in ERP data migration, covering business functions like finance and control, materials management, project management, plant maintenance, and asset management.Hands-on experience with at least two or more ERP greenfield implementations, preferably in the utilities sector.Mandatory Requirements:Proven expertise in ERP data migration with a focus on utility-specific functions.Experience with ERP data services and migration tools.Deep understanding of data structures and business processes within utility companies, specifically for finance and control, materials management, plant maintenance, and Industry Specific for Utilities.Strong communication and leadership skills to manage cross-functional teams and coordinate with stakeholders.Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.BenefitsWhat can we promise you: You’ll join a global family of awesome, passionate people that are working together to build a sustainable, scalable ecosystem committed to using logic to create a better experience.We want you to help us become better.
