Data Architect

Key Roles & Accountabilities:

• Work with CDO  (Chief Data Officer) to develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the organization's goals. 
• Define data governance policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance across all levels.
• Create and maintain both logical and physical data models. 
• Ensure data models support business requirements and data integrity.
  Design database structures, including tables, indexes, views, and schemas.
• Design and implement data integration processes to consolidate data from various sources.
• Ensure seamless data flow across systems and applications.
• Implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for data warehousing 
• Evaluate emerging technologies and tools related to data architecture.
• Recommend technology solutions that not only align with the organization’s needs, but also support long-term growth and innovation.
• Oversee the design and implementation of data platform architecture ensuring it meets the highest standard of scalability performance and security
• Ensure robust and comprehensive data security measures are in place to protect sensitive information from unauthorized access and breaches.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and tools related to data architecture.
• Work closely with stakeholders, including business leaders, data analysts, and IT teams.
• Communicate data architecture strategies and solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Provide guidance and training to other team members on data architecture principles and practices.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in data architecture and share knowledge with the team.

Job Requirements:

Education: 

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent; Masters preferred
• CDMP, TOGAF certification

Experience:

• Minimum 10+ years of experience in a Big Data and cloud technologies.  
• Extensive experience working with Data Platform tools like Big Data stack, ETL TOOLS, streaming, data science and Data Visualization tools.
• In-depth knowledge of Cloud technologies.

Competencies:

• Diverse expertise in technology trends, industry best practices, reference architecture, benchmarks, regulations and standards.
• Extensive technical knowledge of infrastructure technologies, including resiliency, replication, and disaster recovery orchestration technologies.
• Fluency in English and Arabic (for Arabic speakers).
• Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
