Job Description

IRC Background:

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world's worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives. Founded in 1933 at the request of Albert Einstein, the IRC offers lifesaving care and life-changing assistance to refugees forced to flee from war or disaster. At work today in over 40 countries and 22 U.S. cities, we restore safety, dignity and hope to millions who are uprooted and struggling to endure. The IRC leads the way from harm to home.

Since 2007, IRC has provided support to refugees and vulnerable populations in Jordan, collaborating with the humanitarian community and the Government of Jordan. The IRC's assistance programs for children in Jordan cover both camp-based (Zaatari and Azraq camps) and urban-based refugee assistance (Mafraq, Ramtha, Irbid).

The IRC provides educational interventions to help children and youth develop valuable skills and knowledge. These interventions aim to improve their opportunities, well-being, and livelihoods. The IRC supports both formal and non-formal learning activities that result in tangible outcomes such as literacy, numeracy, socio-emotional learning, and marketable skills. Additionally, the IRC prioritizes the protection and psychosocial well-being of children and youth affected by conflict.
