The Warehouse Manager is responsible to oversee the efficient operation of a warehouse facility, ensuring the timely receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. This role involves managing inventory levels, optimizing warehouse layout, and implementing safety procedures. Additionally, Warehouse Managers are responsible for supervising warehouse staff, conducting performance evaluations, and implementing training programs. They play a crucial role in maintaining inventory accuracy, minimizing stock losses, and maximizing warehouse productivity. Comply with local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system and keep stock control systems up to date and make sure inventories are accurate.
Maintain physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
Complete warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
Coordinate and monitor the receipt, order, assembly and dispatch of goods.
Use space and mechanical handling equipment efficiently, making sure quality, budgetary targets and environmental objectives are met.
Have a clear understanding of the Company's policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to these.
Coordinate the use of automated and computerized systems where necessary.
Plan future capacity requirements.
Organize the recruitment and training of staff, as well as monitoring staff performance and progress.
Motivate, organize and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded.
Produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
Brief team leaders on a daily basis.
Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment, for example, ensuring that stock such as chemicals and food are stored safely.
Oversee the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment - where appropriate, oversee the maintenance and operation of warehouse management systems and automated storage and retrieval systems.
Maintain warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
Maintain warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Proficient knowledge of warehouse operations, including inventory management, logistics, and safety protocols.
Strong leadership and team management skills to supervise warehouse staff and coordinate activities effectively.
Excellent organizational abilities to maintain efficient warehouse layouts, optimize storage space, and streamline workflows.
Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software to track inventory, generate reports, and monitor performance.
Effective communication skills to liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders to meet operational goals and address concerns.
ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
Minimum 8 year(s) working experience, 5 year(s) relevant working experience, 2 year (s) GCC is a plus
