Provide technical expertise on all engineering subject matters about Instrument/ Control System of greenfield and brownfield in oil and gas projects.
Coordinate and interface with other Technical Disciplines and contractors/ consultants to resolve technical issues and ensure quality Instruments & Control engineering design execution and integrity.
Perform troubleshooting of process control, optimization, and plant information problems and maintain high availability of the systems.
Lead the functional engineering and design support to CSU team.
Advise on design and commissioning risk and propose mitigations.
Participate as directed in key design workshops and ensure that Integrated Control Safety Systems, control, Functional Safety design recommendation are correctly implemented and actions closed.
Evaluate existing components and systems to determine integration requirements.
On-Site commissioning and start-up Support and troubleshooting support [Distributed Control systems – DCS / Emergency Shutdown Systems – ESD/SCADA /PIMS]
Identify process improvements and implement the same in the team. Manage project risks and take proactive steps for mitigation. Adhering to the customer Schedule & Quality Plan.
Participate in the hot loop test, Control Narratives, Cause and Effect Matrix/Diagrams for Process, ESD and F&G Systems and Logic control narratives.
Assist procurement team in finalizing the technical bid evaluation and purchase order.
ICSS Supplier documents review.
Review the Logic Typical / control modules and testing for DCS, SIS and Fire and Gas System.
Review and implement test as per IO List, IO Allocation for conventional / Remote IO systems and details of cross-wiring between cabinets.
Coordinate with the ICSS suppliers for all activities relative to Site Acceptance Test (SAT) of ICSS.
Assist and coordinate troubleshooting between instrumentation, ICSS, and 3rd Party systems.
P&ID reviews and mark-ups LOSH.
Application of Alarm Management in process industries.
Review System Architecture for entire ICSS.
Assess customer inputs and understand requirements such as Design Specifications, PIDs, Control Narratives, IO List, Instrument Index, Operating Philosophies etc. and Raise Technical Queries when required.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Control System/Instrumentation or equivalent.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
12 years of experience in Control/Automation/Instrumentation related to Oil & Gas industry in a control system design/engineering experience with EPC organization.
Thorough knowledge of discipline engineering techniques, the design of engineered systems, and engineering and design calculations.
Understanding of industry regulatory codes and standards and design criteria pertinent to the engineering discipline.
Job skills of various types of field Instrumentation, DCS, PLC, Hazardous areas is essential.
Good knowledge of MODBUS TCP/IP and RTU communication protocols.
TUV/EXIDA Functional Safety Engineer certification or experience in a functional safety role would be advantageous.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
