Summary
The F-16 Operations Scheduler Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the scheduling of F-16 flight operations, ensuring that all mission and training activities are efficiently planned and meet operational demands. This role requires detailed knowledge of F-16 aircraft capabilities, crew availability, and mission requirements. The Scheduler Lead collaborates with operations, maintenance, and command teams to optimize scheduling resources, manage timelines, and support the mission readiness of flight and ground crews. Exceptional organization and communication skills are essential to balancing mission objectives with operational constraints.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and manage comprehensive flight schedules for F-16 missions, training exercises, and other operational activities, ensuring alignment with mission priorities and crew readiness. Coordinate with flight crews, maintenance teams, and command leadership to understand resource availability and operational limitations, adjusting schedules as needed. Monitor and track mission requirements, ensuring that all scheduled operations adhere to regulatory standards, safety protocols, and mission goals. Adjust schedules proactively in response to changes in mission needs, aircraft readiness, and personnel availability. Maintain and update scheduling systems, tracking crew qualifications, flight hours, and compliance with military training standards. Collaborate with the maintenance department to ensure that scheduled aircraft align with maintenance cycles, minimizing downtime and maximizing mission capability. Conduct regular briefings and meetings with relevant departments to review schedule feasibility, mission priorities, and potential challenges. Generate and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly flight operation reports, providing insights and updates to leadership and key stakeholders. Support the planning and execution of special operations or high-priority missions by coordinating with leadership to allocate necessary resources and resolve scheduling conflicts. Supervise and guide a team of schedulers, providing mentorship and training to maintain high performance and efficient operations. All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Secret security clearance. In order to obtain a secret clearance, qualified candidates must have US Citizenship. Ability to pass physical screening requirements
Education and/or Experience
High School diploma Minimum of 3 years of experience in aviation scheduling, with specific experience in military flight operations; F-16 scheduling experience is highly preferred. In-depth knowledge of F-16 operational requirements, crew qualifications, and mission planning standards. Proficiency with scheduling software, military planning systems, and tools used in flight and resource management. Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail, able to manage complex schedules and adapt quickly to changing priorities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional coordination and effective leadership. Familiarity with regulatory and safety guidelines for military flight operations. Previous supervisory experience is a plus, with demonstrated ability to lead and develop a scheduling team. USAF 7 level in aircraft maintenance
Work Conditions
Position is located OCONUS and in an austere environment; work is being performed on the flight line, limited hangar or aviation field environment.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift and parts, tooling and other awkward items sometimes weighing greater than 50 lbs, including up and down stairs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday. Must be able to see and hear, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
