Summary The F-16 Hydraulics Lead is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and inspection of hydraulic systems on F-16 aircraft to ensure their safe and efficient operation. This position leads a team of technicians in diagnosing issues, performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and executing complex repairs on critical hydraulic components such as landing gear, flight controls, and brakes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead a team of technicians in performing inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on F-16 hydraulic systems. Ensure that all work meets quality standards and follows technical manuals. Conduct and oversee detailed inspections of hydraulic components, such as actuators, pumps, lines, and reservoirs, to identify signs of wear, leaks, or other issues that may affect performance and safety. Use diagnostic equipment and troubleshooting techniques to identify and resolve hydraulic system issues. Provide guidance to technicians on complex repairs and effective troubleshooting methods. Schedule and assign tasks within the team to ensure timely and efficient completion of maintenance activities. Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs. Provide training and mentoring for technicians on hydraulic systems, troubleshooting techniques, and safety protocols. Ensure team members stay current with relevant skills and certifications. Adhere to and enforce strict safety protocols when working with hydraulic systems, equipment, and hazardous fluids. Perform other duties as assigned.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Secret security clearance. In order to obtain a secret clearance, qualified candidates must have US Citizenship. Ability to pass physical screening requirements
Education and/or Experience
High School diploma or GED. Must have held a USAF 7 skill level or equivalent in F-16 Hydraulic Systems Leadership experience preferred. Microsoft Office skills are preferred.
Work Conditions
Position is located OCONUS and in an austere environment; work is being performed on the flight line, limited hangar or aviation field environment.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift and parts, tooling and other awkward items sometimes weighing greater than 50 lbs, including up and down stairs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday. Must be able to see and hear, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
